Οι σταρ της κουβανέζικης μουσικής, γνωστοί για την δυναμική αναβίωση του στύλ son, επιστρέφουν προωθώντας το τελευταίο τους άλμπουμ και γιορτάζουν τριάντα χρόνια από την ίδρυση τους. Στις 25 και 26 Μαίου, η Αθήνα και η Πάτρα θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να γευτούν την αυθεντική κουβανέζικη κουλτούρα και να ταξιδέψουν στα σοκάκια της Αβάνας. If you want something that's classic but fresh, no need to look further than enjoy Sierra Maestra. The Cuban band will travel you on Friday 25th May at Technopolis of Athens and on Saturday 26th May at Politia of Patras in 21.30. A concert-celebration for 30 years of music, with banner their latest album ?son-soul of a nation?. Cuba's leading son group have been stars ever since the late 1970s. They named themselves after the mountain range in the eastern part of Cuba as a tribute to the birthplace of son. The group have played a significant part in the recent global explosion in popularity of Cuban music, with participation in films, such as the ?Salsa? and collaborations with exceptional musicians, such as Ibrahim Ferrer and Omara Portuondo (?Rumbero Soy?). Ex-leader Juan De Marcos Gonzalez created the Afro-Cuban All Stars and Buena Vista Social Club while still with the band, and Jesus Alemany, previously trumpet with Sierra Maestra for 15 years, left to create his group Cubanismo. On November 2005 lead singer and founder member of the group, Jose Antonio died suddenly on the night of the last show of the tour. Despite the trauma the group have found a new singer, Jesus Bello Diaz, who won ?sonero of the year? in 1995 in the annual Cuban national competition. After playing a key part in the recent worldwide boom in Cuban traditional music, the group released their new album to celebrate the glorious heritage of son music in Cuba, and push the sounds of son to a new place. There are new songs, new guests and a renewed vitality. Sierra Maestra have recorded 15 albums many singles and appeared in concerts in Europe, Nothern and Latin America, Africa, and Australia. Αν θέλετε να ακούσετε κάτι ταυτόχρονα κλασικό και φρέσκο, δεν έχετε παρά να απολαύσετε από κοντά τους Sierra Maestra. Η πολυμελής μπάντα θα σας ταξιδέψει την Παρασκευή 25 Μαίου στην Τεχνόπολη της Αθήνας και το Σάββατο 26 στην Πολιτεία της Πάτρας στις 21.30. Συναυλία-γιορτή για τα 30 χρόνια τους στην μουσική, με σημαία το τελευταίο τους άλμπουμ "son-soul of a nation". Λίγα λόγια για το συγκρότημα Το κορυφαίο κουβανέζικο μουσικό συγκρότημα son μουσικής, πρωτοεμφανίστηκε στα τέλη της δεκαετίας του 70. Επέλεξαν το όνομά τους προς τιμή του ομώνυμου βουνού που βρίσκεται στην Κούβα. Σήμερα περισσότερο παρά ποτέ, οι Sierra Maestra βρίσκονται στην πιο δημιουργική καμπή της καριέρας τους, με συμμετοχές σε ταινίες, όπως το «Salsa» και μεγάλες συνεργασίες με έξοχους μουσικούς, όπως τον Ibrahim Ferrer και την Omara Portuondo στο άλμπουμ «Rumbero Soy». Ο παλιός τραγουδιστής, ιδρυτικό μέλος του συγκροτήματος, Juan De Marcos Gonzalez είχε δημιουργήσει τους Afro-Cuban All Stars και τους Buena Vista Social Club και ο επί 15 χρόνια τρομπετίστας της μπάντας Jesus Alemany άφησε το συγκρότημα για να δημιουργήσει το Cubanismo. Παρόλα αυτά ανέκαμψαν με τον νέο τραγουδιστή τους Bello Diaz, ο όποίος το 1995 κέρδισε βραβείο στον ετήσιο Κουβανέζικο εθνικό διαγωνισμό. Ετσι, οι Sierra Maestra με το νέο τους άλμπουμ «Son-soul of a nation», γιορτάζουν με νέα τραγούδια, guests και ζωντάνια την αναγέννηση των ίδιων και της son μουσικής. Το συγκρότημα έχει ηχογραφήσει 15 άλμπουμ και πολλά singles και έχουν εμφανιστεί σε συναυλίες στην Ευρώπη, την Αμερική, την Αφρική και την Αυστραλία.
